Resistors for electronic circuits are being manufactured on a high-speed automated machine. The machine is set up to produce a large run of resistors of 1,000 ohms each. To create a control chart to be used throughout the run, 20 samples were taken with four resistors in each sample. The data is shown below and is also available in the attached Excel file. Use MS Excel or Minitab to develop X-bar and R charts, then determine if the process is under control. If the process is out of control what should be done. Comment on the results.
