This salon functioned as a divisional organizational structure. A divisional organizational structure breaks the company down into units that are self-contained and generally independent from one another. Often, organizations will divide the company into various product departments; however, since my company was in the service industry, they were divided by location. This form of geographic division was on a smaller scale, considering the salons were located within the same region. The head office functioned as the top of the structure and the four locations separated below. I believe this type of structure functioned well for them.
